GET STARTED WITH MY BUSINESS PLANS

Finding my way out to starting my business all began with e-learning. Learning from those who have started the hard way but simply by using the idea they had and developing it into a project. Simply turning their passion into reality. Sourcing help from what is already developed and implemented is the best way forward and talking to Entreprenuers seeking their advise and direction was the best way forward for me. http://www.bplans.com/

Behaviour Based Safety illustration in Bible-Noah's Building Plan

"Noah did everything just as God commanded him" (Gen 6:22).
When God chooses to do something on the earth He uses a man or woman to accomplish it. It is a partnership that is very one sided. God got the worst part of the deal.
God got to a very bad place with the human race. He decided to start over. He was going to wipe out the entire population and begin afresh. He chose one man to place His entire strategy around. Can you imagine that? God placed His entire plan around one man. Why? Because He could trust him. The Bible says Noah did everything just as God commanded him. He didn't argue with God. He didn't take short cuts. He listened and he obeyed.
Who was this man Noah? "Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked with God" (Gen 6:9-10). When it came time to execute God's plan, He chose Noah to build a big boat. However, Noah had no idea what a boat was or how to build one. So, God told him how to build it. He gave him the dimensions; the height, width, space requirements - everything he needed to complete the task.
God will instruct us in performing our work too. God is in partnership with us in our working life. He has given us the tools, the creativity, and the drive to accomplish what He placed us on earth to do. That partnership requires us to listen to our senior partner though because He knows the exact way our project is to be done. And when you follow His direction that project will be excellent in every way.
"Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, and The Holy One of Israel: 'I am the LORD your God, Who teaches you to profit, who leads you by the way you should go'" (Isaiah 48:17).
Do you need God to show you how to succeed in your call? Ask for His wisdom and understanding. God says he will give it generously (James 1:5).
...... Noah illustratated a positive attitude and listened carefully to all the instructions given to him by GOD ( Team Leader) and follow carfeully what was intructed to him. He was the only person building the boat....remember only person but he did not take short cuts. He didnot say oh I'll just do it my way and take short cuts. He took his time and worked his way slowly until he finished the baot. The boat was admirable and

Why the Church Needs More Spiritual Entrepreneurs, Not Shepherds

Why the Church Needs More Spiritual Entrepreneurs, Not Shepherds
We’re desperately missing the gift of spiritual entrepreneurship in the church today.
I realize I might be opening up a controversial conversation. But I think it has to be said.
And I hope you’ll hear me out.
If the church is going to reverse some trends and maximize potential, we need more entrepreneurial pastors, not more shepherds.
There’s too much at stake to ignore this conversation.

We’re (quite literally) missing the boat.

If you’re a Christian, for certain the reason you have the faith you have is because Jesus died and rose again. That’s the absolute foundation of our faith.
But would you ever have heard about Jesus if a rabbi named Saul hadn’t sailed all over the known world telling every Jewish and non-Jewish person he could find about Jesus, planting churches almost everywhere he went?
The Apostle Paul, as he became known, left a huge impact not just on the church, but on millions of lives (and on human history) because he possessed the spiritual gift of apostleship.
What’s an apostle? To put it into today’s idiom, an apostle is a spiritual entrepreneur. (Here’s agreat article from Leadership Journal about apostleship in the church today.)
A shepherd cares for a (usually) small group. An apostle launches dozens, hundreds or thousands of new communities of Christ-followers.
The church today is flooded with leaders who fit the shepherd model, caring for people who are already assembled, managing what’s been built and helping to meet people’s needs. (This is also a spiritual gift.)
But we have far too few leaders who have the spiritual gift of apostleship.
I believe this helps explain the malaise in much of the Western church in which the vast majority of churches are plateaued or declining.
We quite literally need people to get in a boat (or a car or a plane) and start new things, shake up the old and lead into a better tomorrow.

Is this just another slam of small churches?

Is this another slam against small churches?
Well … yes and no.
I love what Karl Vaters has said about small churches. Karl pastors in Orange County California, where everyone has a megachurch it seems. He leads a smaller church.
According to Karl,
Ninety percent of the churches in the world have less than 200 people.
Eighty percent have less than 100 people.
And he asks a great question: “What if [having a lot of small churches] is not a problem; what if that’s a strategy God wants to use?”
Interesting. You could hear this as a justification for keeping churches small (a justification I’ve heard far too many times).

Wafi Safety setting high standards

 Wafi Safety setting high standards

The Safety Department has proactively revised the Wafi site induction package and is going through continuing in its improvement processes.
March 25 saw Wafi Safety Coordinator Bernice Suma, took time out to take new hire Royce Kiapen to 6 Rigs sites orientating him through the Wafi access roads and got him to do his Rig site inductions with the offsiders.
Royce was taken through the induction at the following rig sites, Juliet, India, Yankee, Kilo, Hotel and Whiskey rigs respectively. Although Royce wasn’t new on job, different workplace and drill sites had different hazards and risk areas. It was important he underwent the induction.
Ms Suma said they would ensure that new employees undergo a proper induction process with current company policies, standards, guidelines and procedures. We will also conduct walk around orientation in all the drill sites and different departments introducing new personals.
“It helps them feel and become part of the team on day one and build that bond. Too often, busy workplaces forego a proper orientation in the hopes that new recruits will 'figure it out' as they get to work, but for us safety department here in Wafi, it is different,” said Ms Suma.
Offsiders conducting inductions were really helpful and assisted very well. The team took advantage of the occasion to also inspect the drill sites and identify hazards and unsafe practices and effectively communicated with the crew members and took action to correct the situation.

Relationship between a policy, standard, guideline, and procedure

Yes, I agree with James' comment. Most organizations start without a policy and work their way up. From experience I have always referred to a standard or a clause within an act or regulation and develop a Policy so clarity is very much needed to prevent confusion.

Some may say, no a standard is derived from a policy and I do understand that for well-established organization. Sure enough you will have policies already developed , you may refer to that and work your way down following the communication flow chart.
A simple example is currently I have been given projects on developing guidelines and standards for the site. Unfortunately not much of the safety policies are in place and so there is no foundation to refer to. Knowing the standards I am now working through to have my policies aligned with these standards.
